There is a place down the street that I just found. They sell hay by the bail every saturday. They sell lots of horse supplies also-Those I don't need.
A bail of Timothy hay is around 19.00 which sounded really good to me.
They also sell orchard grass which is around 21.00.
They have their contract on their shop only for a few more months.
I noticed they sell Ivermectin ( hope I spelled that right) for 6.00.
--It was called Ivermectin wormer- is this the same that you use for pigs?
--If so is it worth it to keep some on hand. 6.00 seems a really good price for something that is a good supply to keep around. Does it spoil or expire?
I would love some advice. I want to stock up before they loose their contract on their building.
Also
What is the best way to store hay? Mine eat it really fast- I have 3 little piggies. I was thinking a rubbermaid tub or does it need to breathe to keep mold out? The hay I buy in the store comes in a plastic bag.

That definitely sounds like a good place for hay! The best place to store hay is in a cool, dry place so moisture won't ruin it or cause mold. I keep mine in a rubbermaid tub, but without a top. If the top is on it, moisture can get stuck in it. It needs air to get to it, so keep the top off! I also shake up the tub every day, so that the hay can air out even more. It stays fresh for quite a while that way.

I'm not sure if the Ivermectin you're describing is the kind you use to treat pigs for mites, since none of my pigs have ever had mites, but I would believe it definitely could be the same. I know there a few different products containing Ivermectin you can use, hopefully someone else will be more knowledgable on that topic. But besides that, it sounds like a great price for it, if it is indeed the kind to be used on pigs.

You want pure ivermectin for pig usage, it shouldn't have anything else in it. $6 sounds quite inexpensive, it could be the horse paste though which yes, you can use on guinea pigs. Maybe try and get the name of it next time you go there.

Guinea Lynx :: Ivermectin Products
Have a look at this page, it will help you with the ivermectin you are wanting to purchase.

The hay sounds like a heck of a deal! I have bought bales of bermuda around here, a bale is pretty large. The way that I am storing my KM hay is in a big cardboard box with holes punched in it to allow air in and out to keep it dry. You could do the same with a rubber maid tub--drill holes in the sides if you don't want to leave the top off. I would suggest putting some balled up newspaper, or paper sacks in with it, to absorb any moisture that might try to get in.
