Hi everybody,

I was wondering, is it better to have a second level to your guinea pig cage or is it better to have it all on one level?

I have 3 levels. Its my belief the more room the more entertainment and amusement for your piggies.

So pennick you think their should be more then one level.

I like having just one large level. However, I believe its truly your own preference.

Thanks Piglet. I am still trying to think what I want. If I do make a second level I will post pictures.

If you can sit by and stare at your cage day in and day out and not imagine what a 2nd level would be like then fine, you have great strength. Unfortunately, I have very big eyes and I can never do things moderately. I always go for the extreme. Everytime I stared at my cage I kept thinking more, more, more. So I built more. If you want to go for it go ahead, if not thats fine also.

I am like you Pennick. I always want to make my cage bigger and better whenever I look at it. So I think I will build a second level and if I do not like it I always can put my old cage back together. By the way Pennick your cage is one of the most creative cages I have seen on cavycages.

Thanks. I just checked out your pictures. Your cage is huge. Wow you would have a great 2nd level. You could do one end and go along one whole side. Have fun.

Well, I do want to make the cage bigger, but we don't all have the space like you two do. When I had my second story, my minute room looked even smaller.

My two love their second level. We have a 2x4 on the first level and 2 1x2 lofts on either end of the second level. A ramp goes to one loft and a coroplast bridge goes to the other loft where their feeder and hay rack are. They love to race up and down the ramp and across the bridge. It has worked well for us.
