Behavior Stress responses

I was wondering how your guinea pigs react to stress. I am most interested in any changes in behaviour, digestion (such as a change in stool), etc. if you have a piggy sitter come in when you are away or have new people they don't know visiting or staying with you.
My girls usually chew on their wooden hidey a lot when they are stressed. Usually right after I am done clipping nails. They also won't let me pet them for a day or so after until they realize I am not doing it again.
