I found a really weird bump on one of my Guinea pigs back. Its close to his hind legs.. What could this be? I think I need to take him to the vet soon..

Any suggestions? I can try to take a picture if needed..

is it kinda like towards her bum... like along the spine...? cause if it is then mine is the same way...

Well from what i saw it is close to one of his rear hind legs..

endzie, that sounds like an abscess. Please get your pig to a vet. Though in themselves are not dangerous, they can rupture and cause the infection to go systemic. That will mean big problems for your pig.

If it is an abcess what is going to need to happen? Do they have to surgically remove it?

For an abscess, a vet will usually do an I&D (incision and drainage). He/She will make a small puncture in the abscess itself, drain out the purulent fluid, clean the wound, and probably fill it with antibiotic ointment. Then they will probably send you home with instructions of how to clean the wound and for giving the pig systemic antibiotics.
