Stinging nettles

I've read from several sources that it's okay to feed pigs stinging nettles. I was quite surprised by this, due to the fact that I have a hate-hate relationship with stinging nettles - they sting me, I swear loudly and get a rash. So, understandably I'm querying this. Wouldn't their lips get stung if they ate nettles? Or is it really okay to feed them nettles?

I've read this too and also that it's ok to feed them to rabbits but I have no idea if it's true. I would of thought they'd get stung. We can eat nettles, but only after they have been well boiled to remove the posion
