So sorry to hear. I don't get why the landlord says no for even 1, I mean you did have 1 and it was ok. I always told landlords who said no pets that the pet is always in the cage. They are concerned about mess and possible damage to their place. If they think the pet never comes out, I would think it would be ok. Can't do any harm to the apt in a cage and they are not loud creatures to say noise like a dog. I've gotten around the no pets by saying this with my birds. Some landlords don't view birds and gps as real pets so those I had no prob with. I wasn't about to argue how they are wrong.

I know I don't understand it either, but this landlord is not the original landlord who said yes to star. And that was one of the conditions that he would stay in a cage. Even though we did let him out for a bit but they never knew that. But I don't this person is a animal person. She didn't even show remourse, sympathy, or any feeling what so ever. That made it even worse.

Dang. I guess you shouldn't have told her he passed so she would never know the difference. But now that she knows, explain to her the importance to you and the gp will never come out of the cage. If she still says no, ask her why. I would love to hear the reason..

Just another update:

We got a deffinet answer that we can get another pig(s) if we want. So that make me feels a little bit better. So I will deffinetly be on the look out for available pigs. If anyone knows some place in my area that guinea pigs are available let me know. All the help I can get would be much apprieciated.

I know of a few in Maryland but they are closer to me in the Baltimore area. How far are you willing to travel?

Make sure you adopt a pair. Guinea pigs need companionship of their own species.

Weird that the vet didn't tell you after the first visit that Star was a male.

Well when we first got him we got 3 opinions 2 were vets and they all said he was a girl. And yes I am adopting a pair you can see it in my other thread "just got the call".
