Spraying?

My guinea pig Roxy is "spraying" my other guinea pig Lily in the head, Should I do something about it?

I am really not sure what can be done about this. one of my girls does this also when she is in heat and I haven't yet been able to find a way to stop it. In my experience it tends to just be a dominance behavior.

My girls do this too. It's very annoying as it really makes a mess of the cage walls and their faces!

Wow, you mean you guys actually saw it in action? wow..... I wanna see the legendary spray.
When I first brought Beibei home from Cavyspirit, she got kicked at, nibbed at, huffed at by Meimei for almost a month, but never sprayed at, ...then, a miracle happened..
......................................................... Beibei started to fight back.


Thought Meimei was going through adolescence, then our vet ASSURED me that Meimei is long over adolescence, its NOT a phase thing, its an ATTITUDE thing.... sigh.

Oh yah! Not only did I see it in action, I was actually sprayed! I was filling the hay rack while Peaches was enjoying the new hay in the middle. I started to prod her out by nudging her backside with my hand. She must have thought I was one of her cagemates and sprayed me. Little wench!

I've seen Ruby do it before, but next got up close to actually notice there was pee in the girls faces.

wow, perhaps in addition to voodoo's suggestion of getting some tiny shower caps, we all should get some too. I have never seen my girls do that, however, I was told by my vet that Meimei did that to Beibei, seemed like he found some evidence...?

Is that a dominance act? or as saying I am mad? Does it smell? how do you clean your pig after she has been sprayed???

Yes, it's a dominance act. CoCo occasionally sprays the other girls when they get on her nerves. I think it's like telling the other pigs to "Back Off!".
