I have one guinea pig right now, and am getting a large (2x4 grids, 30"x60") cage in preparation to get a friend for her. She runs around a LOT and I don't want her cage to be too small. I was thinking about splitting the cage in half for a week or two so they wouldn't be able to fight but still be close. Would that make the cage too small for them, or would it be okay for a little while?

I've done a TON of research and that idea popped up a few times. I've been trying to work out the best way and just wanted to know if that was an option. I have the cage Luna is in right now so I've decided to just put my new critter in there once I get her. Thanks for clearing that up
