Hi ya'll,
I'm writing this through tears because I have no idea what else to do. My guinea pig, Mama, has been dealing with gas, weight loss, and overall being uncomfortable since 10/20 from being treated with antibiotics for a UTI and struvites. She's been gradually declining in weight from 1030g to now 840g. While saying hi to the pigs this morning I saw she did roughly ~30g worth of softer poopies and looked fluffed and unhappy in the cuddlesack. I immediately tried feeding her critical care, but she started having gas again and let out liquidy poo. Right now she's being rushed to the ER by my partner. We've been in and out of the vets at least twice every month because of her losing more weigh, being gassy and looking upset. They haven't given us much of an answer since her ultrasound looked good, blood tests were good, UA was good, and is overall a chipper pig.
Please, please, please can someone please give me some advice..or hope? We've spoken to all the exotic vets at the practice (4) and they are shrugging their shoulders. The last vet I spoke to said we should consider her quality of life and I absolutely have. Today is just....so bad so fast. I feel like I've failed my pig. I'm worried she's going to be put down today and that I didn't do enough to help her
