My daughter is getting a pair of piggies AFTER Christmas, but the cage for Christmas day, with all the trimmings. I think I am as excited as she is!:D

We know a lot of what will work will be trial and error, but our initial set up is done~ with a kitchen area and a living area... will adapt re. a litter box if needed elsewhere in the space.

Also hit a snag when we realized our cubes were 14"! And I made bedding based on a 2 x 5 at 12" each, so that will take some tinkering. The doorway to the kitchen is just the coroplast, the brown up against it is the folded over bedding I need to re-sew to size after Christmas.

PVC (tunnels) is safe? Yes? (I sanded all the edges)

Would love any comments or suggestions!

What a creative cage! I love the litter box area. The PVC pipes are okay to use, but they're bad on the environment. :p The cage looks awesome and I'm sure the piggies will enjoy it! Good Luck!

Thanks so much! It was fun to do! I can see how it becomes addicting!

Yes, the PVC is rotten that way :(
Meant to ask... the hidey we bought has no holes~ should we drill a couple for air circulation in the top?

It may crack if you drill it, so I wouldn't. I'm not 100% sure of this but, that's atleast what I think would happen. The cage looks so nice!

Maybe, if you're really worried about the circulation in the hidey house, you could melt holes in it with a wood burner or a lighter.

Ah! That would work!

# of cubes... it is 2 x 4 ~ BUT our grids were ones we al;ready had at home and didn't realize until we went to put it together that they are 14" wide and not 12", so it is 28 x 62" :)

Your cage is great! The only thing I'd suggest is to round off the top corners of the entrance to the kitchen. Those coroplast edges can be pretty sharp if they run into them or poke their eye on them. I love the pattern and colors of your fleece!

Thanks, come on over! I am going to have to keep our 6 year old from putting the 4 lb. Papillon (dog) in it in lieu of piggies on Christmas morning.

Thanks re. the coroplast! I did cover the whole opening with masking tape, but cutting it rounder makes way more sense!

Thanks! I made everything but the igloo piece and wooden bridge~ the tunnels are PVC with fleece covers :)
After 4 days we have very happy piggies~ always chattering and wheeking, sometimes will feed from our hands and I have been taking them out to snuggle and getthem used to it :)
