Stones Sludge and has stopped eating and pooping

Can anyone recommend the best low oxalate veggies pls

It won't help to lower the oxalate in his food if you don't get the stone taken care of.

How do you know it's an oxalate stone? Most guinea pigs get calcium stones.

Am just following vets instructions. There was nothing in xray and ultrasound. But when they tested urine there was a little crystal. And they asked me to change his diet to lower oxalate. If its needing dealt with we will deal with it. But am wanting to go shopping and change his diet to see if we can help him. Can u recommend better choices please he normally on packet of salad leafs from aldi or morrisons.

Leaf lettuce, either green or red, is low oxalate. I buy Aldi’s mix of organic baby greens. The mix changes so I pick out the red and green leaf lettuce. Avoid the cabbage pieces, spinach, and anything you can’t identify. Also avoid parsley, dandelion greens, and cilantro as they are higher in calcium.

It might help to rinse and keep the leaves wet when you feed them so the extra moisture will help flush out the crystals.

I didn’t explain that very well. I pick out the red and green leaf lettuce and feed that to my guinea pig because it’s low in calcium and oxalate.

It sounds like you’re on the right track. Good luck!
