My silkie always has a wet behind like on her fur how do I stop it doing that as I dont want to give her a bath everyday or am I supposed to do that??, Also i dont want to give her haircuts as that will make her colder and we live in a cold place, If anyone has any tips this is my first long haired guinea pig the previous guinea pigs i had have all been aby or smooth haired.

You have to trim the fur around her rear end or it will get soaked in pee and poop will get stuck in there. I do the same with my Silkie and Peruvian. I don't think it will make her colder.

I have five silkies and if I dnt clip the hair on their rear ends, it gets nasty. It doesent hurt the pig at all and it helps keep them clean. I trim all their hair so its even with the ground for the most part. Their butts get trimed a little bit higher.
