Upper Levels Should we add a loft to a 2x3 C&C?

I have Walter in a 2X3 C&C. I much prefer him to be in a 2x4 like the other singles. Unlike the other singles, he gets floor time. The others don't like being out of their cage. I've looked at some lofts on Cagetopia, but I'm not sure if it would be worth it considering the ramp will take up some floor space. I think the Lookout Lounge would be a good fit for us. I haven't done a 2x4 expansion because they are in a tight area along one wall. Combined, the cages are as long as a 2x7 C&C and take up nearly an entire wall. Two cages on top and two under. The Lounge would be easier to fit than another grid. I'm just not sure. Walter would like the extra room, but he'd also probably like running up onto the next level to hang out with me since my couch is right next to them.

I would say no harm in trying it, right? He gets floor time so that's a plus. If he does zoomies in his cage the way it is now, I'd say no since lofts don't really add any floor space, but if you think he'd socialize more with you with a loft, why not?

I added a loft to my two sows' 2x4 and was very discouraged that for months they would have nothing to do with it.

This week they suddenly decided it was the bomb. And it does add floor space: how could it not? One bed is up there instead of below, they run up and down the ramp, and they can get distance from one another if they want it.
I knew it might be a waste of money going in: as long as you have it to lose, I agree. Why not try it?

Guinea pigs require large, open spaces to run. A loft adds area, but as far as requirements go they do not add floor space.
