Cage Should I remove grids under coroplast tray?

Hello! So I looked at the page on how to build the C&C cage just as a refresher since I'm going to expand from 2x4 to 2x5. Not sure why I didn't notice the first time, but I see that the plan does not show using grids on the "floor" underneath the coroplast tray.
So I'm wondering, is there any benefit to using the grids under the tray? Or should I just remove them and use those 8 grids for something else, like an outdoor pen since the weather's getting nice now.
The cage sits on the floor so I guess it really isn't necessary. I feel so silly and now I have to break it to my husband that he spent all that extra time putting the floor together for nothing. I can already see the look I'm going to get
But first wanted to check to see if anyone else has used the grids underneath the tray and what benefit they might have.

I imagine the grids under the tray assist with sturdyness of the walls. If you have other pets that might be tempted to knock down the grid walls, I'd keep he ones underneath there. Otherwise, I think you'd be okay using them elsewhere.

I use grids under my 2x3 cage (so six of them), but I did it because I have mine sitting on a table. That way if it gets bumped a little or something, it won't completely fall apart and off of the table. If I were going to put it on the floor, though, I would do away with the grids on the bottom. So, I don't really see why you would need them if yours is sitting on the floor.
