Please name me the shampoo or some solution which I can just put on my hands and rub around them instead of bathing them... I've gone to a few vets and in Malaysia the vets aren't familiar with guinea pigs... so can me please have some advice on shampoo or solution regarding lice... thanks

Most people in the united states use Advantage or Revolution. It's a flea preventative for dogs/cats. Do you have this in Malaysia?

your pigs have lice again!?

Yes, I think it's from the previous piggy, Joojoo who just passed away... I think the eggs of the lice remain dormant until there's a suitable host... I'm not quite sure whether it's lice... I tried to find the lice but I don't really see any... but they're scratching, scratching and scratching... so I thought giving them some anti-lice rub will solve them problem... if they don't have lice the anti-lice solution won't harm them too, right?

didnt you clean the cage with bleach? You are supposed to wait like a week or so before youuse the cage for another pig if it died of parasites.

If they have lice, then you should be able to see them quite clearly in their fur. Have you found any?

Do they have any scabs? Dandruff? It could be something else causing the itching. If they don't have lice then it would be pointless to use the anti-lice solution.

I didn't use bleach because I thought I saw some article saying bleach is not recommended to use... neither did I use vinegar as I don't have it... but I did use salt...

I don't see any scabs... no dandruff on Mini ( 9 month female ) because she's white in colour... but there is some white powder looking thing on Boonboon's face... I tried to hold him still white petting and check if there were any moving lice when I part the fur... well, I didn't see any...

I know it's pointless to use anti-lice solution when there isn't any lice... since Malaysia's vets aren't specialised in guinea pigs so I thought I might want to use it as a try and see whether the continuous scratching will go away... it won't harm them if they don't have lice, right?

But if they don't have lice, how does anti-lice solution stop them from scratching? If it's not lice, then they'll need something else to stop the scratching.

I don't know what the white powder stuff is. Someone with more expertise would probably know. Have you tried taking a picture of it?

No, I didn't try to take a picture because my Boonboon is very scared... and doesn't like to be held...

A Vet has called me and said that he will give me the list of vet's numbers in Malaysia which I can seek help... I'll try to find a vet who knows about guinea pigs

That's good. Well hopefully you'll be able to find one who can help you out.

You should clean the cage with antiseptic, including the bottle, food bowl... Could it be the location you put the cage? Is the environment clean? If not mistaken, you put the cage on the floor. You need to ensure the environment is clean.
