Sexing help

OK, I'm all flustered here. I was just brushing Daisy, who I was told was a female about 10 weeks old (that was 2 weeks ago). I noticed a little something sticking out from her genitalia, and I'm really not sure if it's, you know, supposed to be there or if she's really a he.

I wonder if I could get the opinion of some experts here? Can you take a look at the pic below and tell me, is Daisy a he or a she?

If you push a little bit above the bump does the penis (the bump) get bigger? If it does you have a male if nothing happens you probably have a girl. Another way to check is to seperate the two siides a bit gently pushing or pulling them away from eachother, if ther isn;t much movement, its male if it moves rather easily you have a female. Also a clearer picture would help a little more.(no offense)

LOL Sorry about the picture, I did the best I could. She's teeny tiny and that area is gray, so it's a little difficult. Man oh man she/he doesn't like being looked at one bit! I tried to get another pic but she bit the fire out of me.

I did what you asked, I pushed on the area right above the penis/bump, and the area raised a bit. I couldn't separate at all.

I'll try again after she/he calms down to get another picture. I now know what an angry piggie sounds like.

An update. I just returned from the vet, and Daisy is actually Desi, a sweet little cavy boy, not the girl I thought I had. Yet another example of a pet shop sexing incorrectly.

The good news, though, is Desi is completely healthy. The vet said he hadn't seen a pet store cavy in such good shape in a long time. More good news is he has a friend who provides a temporary shelter for cavies, and he has a healthy boy in need of a home. I'll pick him up tomorrow and, after quarantine of course, Desi will have a brother!

Oh, good, it's nice to see he's getting a friend! The same exact thing happened to me, I got my first boy from Petsmart as a she, but later found out she was a he! Luckily you didin't get Desi a sweet little girlfriend, or you would have been in a major pickle!
