My guinea pig had a very serious injury! I woke up today to find my pig unable to move or eat. His head is tilted to the left side and after looking closely i see blood coming out and from his ear!

There is blood coming out of his ear hole and a big cut across the top. Although he can walk, he walks with a limp and a slow pace. I have cut up some small pieces of his favorite food (green capsicum) but he is unable to open his mouth and chew properly - i had to force hand feed him. I am very scared... i dont know what to do! I have rang up all the close vet stores ear my town and they say they have a full schedule and i have to wait till tomorrow! I AM SCARED HE WONT LIVE THROUGH THE NIGHT WITHOUT MEDICAL CARE. At the moment he is just laying down and looks very sad and injured. PLEASE HELP ME WHAT I SHOULD DO TODAY AS I CANT GO TO A VET!!!!!!

Where are you located? If you let us know what city you're in, someone on here might know of an emergency vet nearby. I'll keep him in my prayers, too.

Take him to an emergency vet.
It's possible your cat injured him as scratches do not appear out of no where.
Take your guinea pig to an emergency vet ASAP or he won't last the night.
Put his cage mate in a closed cage behind a lock door, so that your cat will not injure him, too.

If you don't think the other guinea pig could have done it then the cat is the obvious suspect. Cats are hunters by nature, cages should be covered when one is present. Regardless if they have never shown an interest.

I sincerely hope your guinea pig can recover, I'm surprised your vet does not have emergency openings-did you explain it was an emergency?

Wishing you all the best.

I would cover your cage. If the cat is the culprit, it will likely try again since it got a taste the first time. Not trying to be callous, just realistic.

Yes, it certainly sounds like the most likely possibility. Even if the cat does not act aggressive in your presence you must not give the cat the freedom to get at them again.

Gentle pressure with a clean cloth on any wound that is still bleeding. I will keep him in my thoughts.

We do have emergency vets here but my mom want let me take him there cause it costs hundreds of dollars and its nearly 11pm already.

HE IS NOT EATING AND IM VERY SCARED. I PUT A TINY PIECE OF PEPPER IN HIS MOUTH AND HE CANT EVEN SWALLOW IT. I'm going to try blending veges and feeding him through a syringe.

Waiting til morning will have dismal results. He needs medical attention now.

Oh man I am so very very SORRY !! Your lovey will be in my thoughts and prayers too ! Did your Mom see your piggie too ?! Go to guinea lynx there is a page on their with regards to how to properly apply first aid to your piggie ( like topical solutions that are safe that you can apply-- to keep the injuries from getting infected UNTIL you can get him in to see a vet) I hope that your Mom will take him in tonight to the emergency vet. Warm wishes and big hugs and prayers to you through the night ! Be sure to cover the cage and lock it !!

OH NO! you are not at fault...Your mom is the adult in the situation and by letting you have a pet, vet visits are a given! That is sooo not fair. I'm crying too along with you.
I Feel so bad for you and your piggie.

OMG a miracle happened! He went out for about 3mins (had bluish lips and not breathing) and i managed to revive him somehow and his lips are pink again...

I just applied some antiseptic cream on his ear cause i think he has an ear infection - which explains the discharge coming out of his ear and his loss of balance.

LISTEN TO ME: If nothing else, please go to this link for help with helping your piggie with his cuts/abrasions ! Just click on this for topicl antiseptic type things for you to do in the meantime ! Here it is just click on it ! http:// http://www.guinealynx.info/antiseptic_solutions.html

Honey, be careful what you use for aid...this link should help with his deep scratches, but other than that...it would take a vet to save his life, if he was not too badly injured in the first place. However, some wounds just seem so horrible at first sight, but hopefully, hopefully he will make it. Again, we are praying, ok ?!

P.S. I am crying for you..I really am crying for you...I would absolutely be devasted if something were to happen to my precious babies and would HOPE someone anyone would reach out and pray or send warm thoughts or wishes, oh honey.
