Secret Santa

I was thinking of having a go at a secret santa exchange for the upcoming holidays. It was mentioned to me that another forum is doing one for Australia, and it seemed only right to include everyone else too.

I was thinking.. Maybe two seperate groups. Or even three depending on the number of people that get involved. USA/Canada (1 or 2 groups, im not sure) and the UK/Europe as another. If anyone outside those regions wants to join, im sure we could add you.

Ok. Yay. Where are you located Socal? Im going to start a list.

The deadline for signups will be November the first. That gives a whole month for signup and a 2 whole months for swap/buy/ship. Im not sure what the restriction will be yet. Once more people start coming, I will set some ground rules. This is going to be fun.

The mods, CavySpirit, and I have discussed this idea at length. Unfortunately, the forum will be unable to play host to any such venture, even if one of the other members is "in charge."

We can't allow minors to exchange addresses through the forum, even though private messages, as it's simply too dangerous.

The forum also can't assume any liability for gifts not received or gifts damaged or people being assigned as the Santa to a member they dislike.

There are just too many problems for it to be feasible right now.

For anyone who is interested in doing this sort of thing, guinealynx and pigloo do some sort of gift exchange around the holiday seasons.
