I did notice that my piggy scratched... but it wasn't often... it looked as if he was cleaning himself... he didn't do that often... so I was wondering.. is it natural for them the scratch as to clean themselves? Or scratching usually means mite...?

If there's an itch, they scratch. They do this naturally. But if there's something irritating the skin then they'll scratch more than normal. You'll also be able to see damage to the skin & hair if it's abnormal.

Occassional grooming is fine. They rub their noses with their front paws and they scratch like dogs. Over-excessive scratching could mean lice or mites though.

That's weird... how come I don't see my piggy scratched a lot and excessively... but I saw a lot of lice when he was dying..

It's natural to scratch and groom, though if this is happening more than usual I'd take the pig to a vet just to be sure.

Try to comb their hair often. Then you can notice whether they got bald spot, wound or lice...
