scratching???? what the...

my gp keeps on scratching himself. not continuously, but everytime i watched him he would scratched himself every 1 minute or so. is that mean he has fleas or something? help plzz

Sounds like an early case of mites to me (regardless of loss of hair or not). Check out www.guinealynx.info for info in treating piggies for mites. It's a good thing you caught it early. The sooner your piggie gets treated for it, the better, since mites are really painful since they burrow around under the skin.

Oh-no! Amy has been scratching alot lately too! I was wondering how much a guinea pig scratches just because she has an itch. I wasnt sure. I mean dogs sratch alot but that didnt mean that they had fleas. So I guess I will take her back to the vet. She just had mites after I brought her home from the petstore.
