Scheduled Chats

I've noticed over the years that use of the chat feature is spotty, and I was wondering if we'd be able to schedule chats. Perhaps we could make a sticky thread [or just use this one] to announce them?

yes I agree I can never find anyone online we do a chat on like every saturday for an hour so if we could get a few people to attend id try my best to be around

Okay i will try to be on at 7 on saturday as that is my normal floor time unless i have hockey which i doubt. also what time zone are we talking because obviously when its seven for you it may be 6 for me and i might miss it completely

And I LOVE the idea of topic-specific chats. I think it would help many people, including the "newbies"

Diet, Bedding, etc. would all be good topics

probably the best zone would be eastern standard because after looking on silvers page me and her live in the same time zone if you want to tell me your nearest large city i could find your time or just follow this link The World Clock – Time Zones

I am in the Eastern time zone as well Looks like this will work.

I PM'd Ly, and she responded saying that her life is busy and hectic, and she can not hold any scheduled diet chats at this time.

But we can still chat and hang out.

I like this idea! Perhaps we can have a chat session each Saturday evening at 7 pm EST. You can figure out what time it is for you in your time zone by clicking here: Time Zone Converter – Instant World Time Zone Conversion Maybe each session can be about a different topic, diet, bedding, care, cage, etc. and then the last few minutes can be just general chat.

I'll be there 7pm EST Saturday night. What's the topic?

Sorry I was not on time for Saturday's chat, but I did have a good time as well!
I think next week we should discuss cage designs, setups, future plans, etc. Does this sound good?

I'll make a designated room called "Cages Chat" - with no password. For those who do not know how to change rooms, you go to the dropdown menu at the top of the chat window, and select the room you want to go to. If you're in the main chat it will say "Cavy Cooler."

Is 7pm EST too late? It is sort of a weird time for me too, would maybe starting at 4 or 5 be better?
My Saturday schedule usually involves walking dogs at the nearby rescue from 5-7ish, so I would be available to start a chat at 4pm, and come back to it after 7, if that works better for some people.

7pm EST Saturday in the US is the same as 8am WST Sunday in Western Australia. If I am up early enough I might pop in. I used to live in chat, but life has kinda got in the way since!!
