I am in need of some recommendations for scales, nail clippers, and water bottles.

I have used human nail clippers but have found them difficult and dangerous to pig nails as of late.

And, I am also wondering if I need two water bottles if I have two guinea pigs? I've only had single pigs, but I may be fostering soon. So I'm curious if they'll fight over water like I've seen them fight over veggies.

Also, I can't seem to find a good scale. I'm looking to buy it off Amazon. I've heard (but am not sure) that it sound measure in grams and ounces.

Sorry if I sound so ill-informed. I feel like I'm learning guinea pig ownership all over again. lol

Let’s start from the top…

Nail Clippers – These are the one’s I use and have found them to be effective.
Small Pet Nail Care: Super Pet Pro Nail Trimmer at Drs. Foster and Smith

Water bottles – I am of the opinion that you should always have at least 2 water bottles in your cage, EVEN if you only have one pig. I’m a bit of a worry-wart and always want to plan for the unexpected. With 2 water bottles I have the peace of mind that my piggy will stay hydrated, even if one of them fails in some way.

I use these water bottles and love them. With glass you can clean them with boiling water, plus there is a cute little carrot to indicate the water level at a glance. Also, they have minimal dripping.
Small Pet Feeders and Waterers: Living World Eco+ Water Bottle at Drs. Foster and Smith

Scale – I got mine from Amazon and I have to admit…it seems pretty cheap, as far as construction, but it does its job. You can weigh in ounces, grams, pounds, and kilograms.
Amazon.com: Ozeri Pronto Digital Multifunction Kitchen and Food Scale, in Elegant Chrome: Kitchen & Dining

And just as a side note – The first 2 products are from a site called Dr’s Foster and Smith. If you order over $50 then shipping is free. You can get Oxbow hay and pellets through them as well as other critter stuff.

I will get The Biggest Loser Scale!
My problem with the Foster and Smith stuff is that it has such expensive shipping. Awesome prices but yikes!

Yeah, I really would LOVE to get one with ounce markers too.

I don't think they will fight over the water bottle. Mine don't. However they might start fighting as a show of dominance.

Shipping is completely free if you spend $50 or more. I just make sure I get everything I need all at once.

I'm fostering because I don't have very much money, actually. :guilty: But maybe my boyfriend will get some stuff for his kitties and we can split the cost! Thanks Catahoula. I totally must have the glass bottle!
