Too late to answer your question about closing off the ramp, sorry! How did he make it through the night?

Be sure to treat both pigs at the same time, as well as doing a major cage clean-out. Thoroughly disinfect (or throw away) any soft objects in the cage, and wipe down everything else with vinegar and water.

Okay, so my boyfriend's mom took my pigs to the vet while I was in school. She was a "walk-in" so she didn't get our normal vet. The vet said Guinness does not have mites (which I'm still skeptical of) and she isn't sure what it is, but she is pretty sure it is some sort of fungal infection... Guinness was given a bunch of medication and earned the ribbon of Most-Expensive-Vet-Visit-For-Us-Thus-Far. He was given some cleaning solution for his open wounds, rubbing solution for the tiny bald spots on his legs, antibiotics, and pain medication = Almost $250.
I'm still going to buy some Invermectin myself though. It won't hurt them as long as I use the proper dosage anyways.
Should I clean the cage as if I were trying to get rid of mites? Even if it is a fungal infection I should wash it all out anyways. Do I need to do anything special with cleaning? Do I just wash the padding and fleece with detergent and some vinegar? That's what I did last time when Ripley had a fungal infection on his ears.

I am sorry you spent so much money, because it sounds like that vet isn't really cavy savvy. What't the name of the ointment for his bald spots, the antibiotic, and the pain meds?

How did she diagnose him? What did she prescribe for the fungus?

Mites don't live off the pig, so you don't need to clean because of mites. Fungus, though, is very contagious and you need to clean everything.

I think you should get some ivermectin and treat them.
