I was hitting a sale at Petco for cuddle cups and CC's little brother was there. I told them I wanted to see him, much like his brother he is very timid. However, he has very soft fur but the little guy was tagged before they shipped him out. He had a perminate hold in his left ear. I really wish I could take him home but after I adopted Smores I said I would never get another piggy from Petco again.

I am sorry you had to go through that. Give your guys a cuddle and tell them how much you love them and how lucky they are to have you.

Still stay out of pet stores that sell animals. By buying goods there, you support what they are doing to CC's brother, and his mother- who is god knows where being bred again to make more babies for Petco to profit from.

I know it is hard not to do it- try to check out feed stores that sell only supplies and no animals.

CC's other brother who was west across the border in IN just got adopted. So hopefully things will go well for him.

Hwo do you know it is CC's brother?

Where are people supposed to buy stuff then?? LOL, or does all your stuff just magically appear?

You can buy stuff at feedstores and other websites.

We don't have feedstores here and that is an american site, there's no way I'm buying from there.

Oh, Then I guess it would be fine to buy from petstores. I think the main thing is that you don't buy pets for Petstores.

There are a few threads at Guinea Lynx on where to find supplies in England. It might take a little more effort on your part to find a way to get supplies that doesn't support the selling of live animals, but it's certainly worth the effort.

Have you checked out the (broken link removed) . I think they have free shipping if you buy over 40 dollors worth of stuff.

candi I live in England and I do not buy anything from petshops. I only have one feed store near me and I get my rabbit, guinea pig food and hay from there. There are loads of online shops where you can get supplies. I get my toys from ebay and just from ordinary shops like Wilkisons.

It is surprising how much cool stuff there is for guinea pigs if you just put in your mind what a guinea pig would want.

I buy my main supplies at an animal/garden centre which doesn't sell animals.

CC was from that Petco when I first got him. Before I went to adoption with Smores. He was from the same breeder and he looks exactly the same as CC.

That doesn't mean they are brothers. Their were 5 guinea pigs that looked the same as Coco at the rescue, but they wern't sisters. Sorry to sound rude.

I'm sorry Ryan. At least you have two VERY happy pigs at your house.

I used to go to Petco for ALL the stuff for my piggies but I found a new pet store that's like HEAVEN. They sell no animals whatsoever, they carry Oxbow at the cheapest price I've ever seen (Only 6.49 for 5lbs. of Cavy Cuisine) and they carry bags of 3000 sq ft of Aspen for 6.00 each, they accept ALL local competitors copouns, and they sell a wide selection of toys to spoil my boys. I guess I lucked out.lol

Wow! I wished we had a store like that near us.

Same here. I love to have a place that sells that.

Good news. When I was looking around downtown I came buy this store called Plushpets and it has oxbow products cheap and it has bedding for cheap.
