Hello,
New to whole ginny thing. Only been a ginnymommy for about a months now. I got two ginnys one vader and the other chewy.THE boys got along great were more like bothers since we got them at the same time. Chewy was the smaller of the two. And real snuggly. Well after having chewy for about two weeks we woke up one morning to him breathing real heavy, slowed down(sleeping), not eatting just not himself. Well we called the vet and they said come and drop him off for the doctor was in surgery. We got a call that night to say that chewy had pneumonia. He was not doing to well and for his age was not expected to make it for he was only two months old and so little. Well to make a long story short chewy died that next day on 5-06-05. The little guy was only with us for a little but seemed to have touch my heart so big. These were/are our first ginnys and boy is it hard to see them go. Well we have gotten vader a new friend and they seem to be getting along ok. Going to the vets in the morn to check them both out. But you know what one thing is odd I now find myself wanting every ginny I see.

Chewy will be saddly missed but will never be forgotten

I'm sorry to hear about Chewy. Loss is very hard to deal with. It's good to hear that you got Vader a new buddy. Did you quarantine?

No. Sad to say for now we have to bath both for our new addition has a skin problem. Took them both to the vet today. All should be well now though. Lesson learned. They seem to get along great though. Thanks for the reply.

I am so sorry to hear about losing your little friend. Sometimes things just happen even after doing everything right. I know what you are going through - I lost my one of my first 2 after only 4 months. He was several months old and died 3 days after being neutered. Turned out he had heart disease and though he made it through the surgery with no problem he just kept getting weaker each day.

I also want to rescue every pig I see. I now have 6 - all girls. I get angry whenever I hear of someone surrendering an older pig or someone who stopped taking care of their pig and decided to turn it in because it became sick. If I came face to face with each of these people I would be in jail for assault. These little things don't ask us for much and when people think that is too much it just sends me into a tail spin.

Good Luck with your new buddy and I am sure everything will work out.

Thanks. It is true they only ask alittle. We have been to the vets now three times and have to go again next week. I think people dont relize that just case they are so small that they too need a vet. My next door neighbor saw me leaving with my two boys and stated you are taking them where "vet" ooooooooooooooooh.

Yes I want to rescue some more piggys too. They are too cute.

Those little faces are definitely very hard to resist. It is also very rewarding when you bring a shy one into your home and want it transform into a sweet, loving pet.

I do suggest if you adopt again that maybe you could consider a pig that is a little older. Everyone wants a baby, but the older ones also need a home. I have adopted both.

Here is Chewy and Vader
