We are putting my 11 year old dog to sleep today. Because she has heart failure, a heart murmur, and a lung tumor (the tumor makes it so she can't breath). There is nothing the vet can do. Unless we spend over $1,000 to have her put through heart surgury. And stuff. The vet said she probably wouldn't make it through the surgery. Even if we did have the surgery done. Well anyways I am sad and needed to tell some one...

I feel your greif. My mother had to put her cat down after 14 years. It sounds like your dog had a long and I'm sure wonderful life and we should be grateful that we can do the humane thing for our beloved pets.

My heart breaks for you. A year and a half ago I had to put my first piggie, Puzzle to sleep - he was 6 years old and had a huge tumor on one of his breasts. He had gotten so uncomfortable that we had to make the decision to put him down. It takes about 15 minutes for the shot to take full effect so I just I held him the entire time until he was gone. It hurt soooo much ( and I am a 46 year old mom ). My heart literally hurt. I know what a tough decision it is to make, but he will be in doggie heaven running around with all the other doggies! At least that is the way I like to think of it. 2 days after losing Puzzle I got another piggie - he won't replace Puzzle, ever, but he is also the sweetest piggie in the world and he helped ease the pain.

How sad :'( I'm so sorry. I would think of it as what mom to cujo said "He will be running in doggie heaven with all of the other dogs." He could have all the dog treats and chew toys and he wants...and butts to sniff.

And he will be in good company. I'm sure piggie heaven is next door to doggy heaven. They can pick the mites and ticks off each other

well we still don't know if she is fine and doesn't need to be put to sleep. We went to another vet. And they are doing tests. So we will find out soon enough.

I am SO sorry hun. I know how hard it is to do that. I had to make the same decision a few years ago and it is heart renching. I'll keep you and your family in my prayers hun, and pray that there is still hope.

awww I feel you too. I had to put my dog Isaac to sleep last year. He was ten years old. That was the hardest decision I had to make. He was my own first dog I have ever owned in my entire life. I know exactly what your going through, Your doggie is in doggie heaven. Remember the Rainbow Bridge. Your dog will wait to meet with you when it is your time. My prayers are to you and your family.

Cinn-- I'm sorry that you might have to put your doggy to sleep! My dog was hit by a car, and I thought that was bad! I'm so sorry that your doggy has all of that!

She decided not to put her dog to sleep when they were driving there which is good.

We had her (Chibet) put to sleep this morning. We had taken her to several different vets again. Had tests done, got new medicines. But nothing was working. She stopped eating, started choking on her own spit because she couldn't breather, she didn't want to take her medicine, and she had just lost all her quality of life. We are very sad. The house seems too quiet without her coughing. It will be weird without her being around......

i am so sorry...we had to put my dog down last year. you will always love her, but the pain does get easier to bear over time. and it might help to remember that in heaven there is no pain or sadness. so she can watch over you. maybe she and my dog jessy are playing right now.

That is so sad. **cry** I'm so sorry. Remember Chibet is in doggy heaven having the time of her life. She can be all around you even though you don't know it. Chibet will probably be watching over you.

Thanks My Baby Mu and KellyMichelle, this is a picture of her. The day I got her, January 5th 2004. I don't have very many pictures of her on my computer.... So thats why this one isnt the greatest

You can't post a picture from your hard drive, silly, because nobody else has access to it but you! You'll need to host it online, on a server, and put the url into the tags. That way, more than just you can access it. =)

Im sorry to hear that Cinn. Well maybe Chibet and Jessy is up ther playing with my dog Isaac too. We had to put him down last july 03.The hardest thing that we have ever done. Just remember there is no pain in doggy heaven. My prayers are with you and your family.
