I have always dreaded the day I would have to write one of these and now the time has come.
This evening my second oldest guinea pig, Baby Boo, passed away with his young buddy Cinnamon right by his side. His cage mate for 5 years, Atticus, was too busy eating to give a last snuggle.
I had owned him for 5 years last week. He came into the pet store I was working at as a sick baby pig who I took home and nursed back to health. Since he was light orange and black and it was almost Halloween I called him Boo and because he was so little I named him Baby Boo.
Last night they were all running around in the cage wheeking, in the morning they were all sitting in the hay, and this afternoon when I went to feed them their pellets he was laying on his side, twitching and breathing slowly. I spent a lot of the afternoon by the cage and shortly after my husband said his good-byes to him he took his last breaths and passed.
RIP Baby Boo. I'm sure you and Ty are snuggling together up there.
(Ty is my young cat that passed last year and he loved watching and playing with the guinea pigs)
Attached is last year's Halloween photo.
