Okay so when adopting Rigby, I knew that he hadn't actually been to a vet. He was treated for mites, but that's it.

Well I have a few concerns upon giving him a close inspection:
One of his eyes looks different than the other. I am lifting ever so slightly to get a better view, but the white part is visible when he's just sitting there normally.

And his foot. It looks almost like bumblefoot. I'm not sure what kind of cage he was kept in before he went to the rescue, but at the rescue he wasn't on wires or anything like that.
I've dealt with spurs before on George, but this doesn't look like a spur, so I'm guessing it's either dried poop or bumblefoot. I plan on trying to wipe it off later but i didn't want to traumatize him any more than I probably already have from trimming his nails.

About the eye, both of Danu's are like that they're just buggy. If it's one though, I'd be concerned about pea eye or something of the like. That really looks like a spur to me, you should post another picture :p

Thanks! I'm gonna go look at it again and try see if the other eye is like that at all.
The thing on his foot is right up against his skin though, which is mainly why i don't think its a spur. Every spur I've dealt with has always stuck out a little. I'm about to go try to wipe it off, if it doesn't come off I'll get another pic of it.

Well, it didn't come off. It looks almost like a scab? I really don't know. Here are 2 more pics i was able to get of it:

Edit: His eyes look the same. Maybe it was the angle he was at or something? I mean there's still some of the white part there, don't get me wrong, but both eyes have about an equal amount of white showing.

Thank you, I really hope I'm just being paranoid about it all. lol
He sure is, isn't he? And he's been soo brave during his nail clipping and everything. He's definitely a lot less squirmy than George haha!

I don't know it still looks like a spur to me but I can see how it's slightly irregular, but if the eyes are equal he just has bug eyes like my Danu :) You can kind of see it here, I call them her worry eyes.

And a cute piggie :)

Maybe you should take him to a vet just to make sure you know what you're dealing with! Not just for the foot but if he hasn't been to a vet since he was rehomed you don't know what else could be going on! especially under all that fur :)

Yeah I was thinking about it and I kinda figured that that would probably be the best thing to do. I wish my vet office was open on sundays. D: I might end up having to post-pone my doctor/dentist trips on monday so he can go to the vet.
Thanks for the replies everyone. :)

The beginnings of impaction?

I was spot cleaning Mr. Riggles' cage and saw this clump of poop. Is this the beginning of impaction?

Just wanted to add that he does have normal poops. That was the first and only one I've seen so far that was like that, but it's still kind of concerning.

Bumping this. Does anyone have any thoughts or opinions on this? It would be greatly appreciated. (sorry if I'm bumping this too soon, I'm just worried about him.)

I doubt it's impaction. My two sows have poops that occasionally look like that but there's never been anything to worry about.

How old is he?

That's good to hear, I feel a lot better now.
The rescue I got him from said that he's about 2 years old.

Re: White flakes at end of hair??

Recently I noticed that Rigby has had some white flakes at the very ends of his fur by his ears and also a very small bit on the outer edges of his ears.
I tried to get a picture but couldn't. :/
Any ideas of what it could be?

Sounds like the start of a fungal infection on his ear, we've had a couple of pigs come into the rescue with it...It heals rather quickly.

Though it might not be that!

I tried looking at the fungus section on Guinea lynx and the only thing it mentions is ringworm. I don't think it's ringworm-- is that the only kind of fungal infection they can get?

Wow i didn't see this until now. lol
Well, his ears don't really look like any of those pictures.
I'm really not sure what the flakes at the tips of his fur could be. It almost looks like dandruff, but they aren't really loose and most all dandruff I've seen comes off pretty easily.
I thought maybe it might be lice or something so i checked him, but didn't see anything.
Does Ivermectin get rid of fungal infections? If so, would it be okay to treat him just in case?
