Hello cavy lovers,
I have two boars, one of which is almost 3 months old. He wakes up every single morning between 6 and 7 to wheek loudly, mess with Scout and do laps around the cage.
While this is usually a delightful way to start my day Monday thru Friday (since that's when I wake up for work), it's downright god awful to hear during the weekends when I'm trying to enjoy my only two days to sleep in. It isn't fair for me to get angry at a piggy for being a baby, but I'm a terribly light sleeper and every single little noise wakes me up. I keep my piggies in my bedroom so I can fully enjoy them, since that's where I spend the majority of my time when I am at home.
Would it be stressful on them to move them to their 5 grid playpen in the living room for only two nights a week? It's not a large size for them at all, but it's all I have right now. If you think this relocating could be inhumane or stressful on them, I'll just invest in some ear plugs instead :)

Thanks!

One day, I was sick, and I had just cleaned out my Piggies cage (so I put them in their Play Pen)

Well, I was sick, so I was terribly tired. So, I didn't get them back into the cage until around 9:00 PM. I put them in at around 4:00 PM. That's 5 hours, and they did great. So, I wouldn't imagine that moving them 2 nights a week to a Pen overnight could present any problems, as long as they have some comforts of home in with them-- A hiding hut from their cage, water bottle/food bowl W/ some veggies, a hay rack, (if possible, otherwise you can improvise) and that should just about do it. I don't think they will have any problems. Just make sure you at least check in on them a few times the first couple of times you do the switch-- The smallest things can be stressful for Guinea Pigs, so just follow my instructions, and you should be fine.

Good luck!

I don't think that is a big deal

I recommend the earplugs. Mack's silicone ear plugs are wonderful. Just pinch them in half before you use them -- they're a little too big for comfort otherwise.
