Really not sure?????

I adopted two sows one was 7 weeks when I got her and the other one older.

The younger one is heavier than than the older one, and 3 weeks ago when I held her her tummy felt lumpy?

Now it looks like she has a small bump one side of her stomach but the other side looks flat, when she stretches the lump looks more prominant. I have seen pics of heavily pregnant sows but she doesn't look like that.

Do all sows tummys feel bumpy/lumpy and seem rounded underneath? am I imagining she is pregnant

Lumpy? Are you sure it isn't a cyst, or a tumor? You might want to take her to the vet.


I agree with fresian, Pics may be helpful.

I don't think the small lump would show up on the picture as it only appears sometimes when she moves also I tried to take one but she moves quite quickly so can't get one of her still she is scared of the camera:sad:

Can young sows get cysts then?

From my experience with having pregnant sows it sounds like if she is pregnant you have a good few weeks or more before she has them. The best thing to do is to just watch. It's a waiting game and I've been there too. Good luck!
