Vet Rapid weight gain

My cavy Marcy has been gaining weight rather rapidly which is causing me to worry but I won't have money to take her to a vet until about a week and a half from now so maybe you guys could help me determine how worried I should be. In a week she gained 2 ounces then 2 more ounces 2 days after being weighed. She is suspected to be about 5 months old. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with her besides a fungal infection which I'm already in the process of treating with over the counter human fungal cream until my products from gorgeousguineas come in the mail. She doesn't seem to scratch at it often and it doesn't seem to be bothering her too much. I suspect the extra two ounces in the week to have been caused by a couple of salads I gave her and my other guinea PB which were about double the size of their normal daily salad. She hasn't become lethargic and is just as active as before and has no other symptoms other than the afore mentioned fungal infection. So what do you guys think? How worried would you be?

Gaining weight is radically, not so that to be worrying about. Mostly of the guinea pigs who are gaining weight are the ones who eat pellets that are for the guinea pigs. Because pellets may contain or not but with mostly substances that makes or allows fast relieve of their hunger. Mostly if you notice if you have your problem cavy eating several pellets, he or she will not refuse to have fluid intake or water. That is also a usual side effect to the guinea pigs when they drink really liters of water - is because of water - if it is many - could cause water retension because of the pellets that have some salt in them - that also blocks down the passage way of the fluid in the body.
So maybe I would suggest only if you want that if you are giving pellets make sure that the main ingredient is not of corn. Maybe plain pellets can do and is fortified with Vitamin C. and maybe some only minerals. Salad is Good - but when in feeding time is done - just put only vegetables except of the veggie icebergs and when in the tomato do not put the leaves on top of it and especially remove the inner seeds.

In putting ointments in the effected area maybe I would advice that do not put creams that is used by the human because we and the guinea pigs have different types of our skins. Maybe veterinary wound ointment for especially cats or dogs or as much as possible of also gerbils, cavies, and rabbits can really do. Maybe just apply it every other day.

But remember I am not an expert of this. This is just of my experiences with also the health matters of my cavies.

Trust me, I did my research about the human fungal creams before beginning to apply it. And I have kept a very close eye on them since beginning the treatment.

Your pig is still young and growing. Also if you are using like a miconazole cream that is fine for the fungus. It says for humans but most vets know it is one of the best treatments for fungus so that is what they would recommend anyway.

Sorry wait again I cant understand, thus your guinea pig have a wound or an infection that causes inflammatory.

Vet she says the pig has a fungus. Hence the need for anti fungal cream.

Oh if it is fungal transsmited it is just fine.

It's actually a clottimazole cream which I've also found recommendations on. And the possibility of her being pregnant is none. I have quadruple checked my two pigs just to be sure and they are both female.

Clotrimazole (Lotrimin) is fine for a fungus.

If you're positive the other pig isn't a male, I wouldn't worry about the weight gain. Keep weighing weekly and keep track of the weights. She's young and should be gaining steadily.

She was gaining an ounce per week then there was the sudden jump that worried me but I guess she's just growing then. Thank you.
