how did you get all of your pigs to go up their ramps, dagwell seems kind of scared of it. im gonna give him some time but any ideas to help me out?

Take your piggie and put them on the 2nd level and they will learn that they can go up and down. Its best for them to learn how to go down first so they can over come their height problem. Also put some veggies and food and water up there too. I did that to all my piggies until I had to take the 2nd level down. I got way to many piggies.

thats good idea im gonna go try that

I put hay and food up there. They got used to it in like 10 minutes.

Yes, put the food up there. That will make them go up there...
At least I know mine will crawl into almost anything for food.
One of my cavy's favorite place is on the roof of his little hutch! (don't know why... but he even sleeps up there sometimes)

well i put dagwell up there with food water and hay (i need to buy more veggies) and he fell asleep without even looking at the ramp

Ha ha! Well, he'll need to get down sometime

Yes, He will come down eventually.

I also remember putting some veggies along the ramp.

Yes, try putting him on top with a trail of food down. He'll get the hang of it soon enough!

this was very helpful, as Harry won't use her ramp either. She'll just sleep up top under her hammock. i was worried that she might not eat if i didn't put her up there.

well my ramp is under construction i think he doesnt like it because its to steep and wobbely im getting coroplast soon

You can use 2 crates and bend them. it would be a The sides of the ramp would be like atleast 3 square size up. It works great for me. Add carpet/ out door rug not fuzzy ones and zip tie it together and then zip tie it to the 2nd level.

i dont have any carpet at my disposal lol. i think i may take the second level down til i get my new piggies.

Cardboard makes a good ramp. I added sides on mine for extra security. Also I added 'steps' also made out of cardboard and taped them to the ramp for traction. Too steep? Mine goes up one cube and across 1 1/2 cubes and works just fine. I had to give my piggy a little 'nudge' the first time he went down the ramp. After he realized it was safe, he wasn't afraid anymore.

i found that mine ends up sliding down and i dont think its wide enough

well i woke up and dagwell was on the bottom part of the cage which is a lil scary cause the ramp doesnt go all the way down anymore. but i couldnt find him at first because he was hiding in the two layers of fleece blanket he scared me to death but twas cute.
YAY my 100th post lol

Looks like he found it! You can put a brick at the bottom if the ramp doesn't go all the way down.

Just to give you an idea, my ramp is 5 1/2 inches wide and the sides are 3 inches high.
Yes, it does need some traction otherwise they'll slip. Some people use carpet, but I used handmade 'steps' made out of cardboard.

i think he may have jumped down tho. could he get hurt from the lil jump?

could be hurt. they have delicate bones. best to block the hole until the ramp is ready.
