Alright, so I just want to make sure I have everything right. I've been surfing through the boards and took notes but some things I can't find an answer on so I apologize for the common questions I may ask. I probably will be getting two males under 3mo old and I think I've read that they get unlimited pellets and hay with 1 cup veggies? For pellets and hay do they get timothy or alfalfa? Also, I was thinking of getting the 40lb 3rd cut hay from kma how long should that last? Also with pellets I think 25lbs should last 6mo for an adult but how much for two babies? Lastly, how varied does their veggie intake need to be? 3 different veggies every day ok or should there be a greater variety and mixed daily ie.) carrots, lettuce, and pepper on tue and grape, tomato, and parsley on wed? Just trying to figure out how to fit it all in the fridge and making sure it doesn't spoil since I only like carrots and lettuce. Oh, one more thing does anyone recommend using a vitamin c supplement? I thought I read some people sprinkle it on veggies but as long as they get all their veggies they don't need it? Sorry about all the questions, I know it might be confusing. I'm just excited and like all the kinks worked out, makes me less anxious.

They need unlimited hay, but they only need 1/8 a cup of pellets per guinea pig a day , and they need alfalfa pellets until they're six months old. One cup of veggies is right. I'm not sure how long the hay would last, but with my two pigs, a five pound bag of pellets lasts well over a month, though I'm not entirely sure yet because I just recently learned about the 1/8 cup a day myself!

With the veggies, I think variety is very much appreciated, but I believe as long as you stick to the nutrition chart, things should be fine. Mine get green pepper, cilantro, and lettuce daily, and then I take turns adding in something different each day, all according to the charts.

With vitamin C supplements, as long as they're eating all their veggies, they shouldn't need it, but I've never had to give mine supplements, so I'm not really sure of all the ins and outs of it. I know that you can sprinkle it over their food or give it to them, diluted with water, in a syringe in their mouths, but that's about all I know.

Good luck!
