General Questions for Penang Guinea Pig owners

I don't have gps yet but I might be getting a pair of them next year! Yayyy! So I've got a question. I'm thinking of housing them in my store room which is quite dusty, not very small or big. But I'll be cleaning it out on CNY holiday so i can have room for my piggies. The room is not very airy but I'm thinking of getting a fan for the room and when I'm out of my house (which is most of the time on the weekdays), i can leave the door open so they'll have fresh air. Is this idea ok? Please give feedback! I really need help!

Your pigs really need to live where you live. They are skittish animals, and the more interaction they have with you, the better they'll get to know you, and you them. They hide any illnesses almost to the point of total collapse, so if you don't see them several times a day, you're not as likely to notice that they're ill. Outside, they'll also be at the mercy of insects and spiders, not to mention the heat in Malaysia. Guinea pigs can only tolerate heat up to about 85 degrees centigraded, so you'd definitely need to keep them in an air conditioned room.

I hope you meant Fahrenheit! I can't imagine anywhere outside of my oven being that hot.

Yes, I did mean Fahrenheit, and certainly not centigraded. I obviously had too much to eat yesterday.....

@bpatters Well, when i mean I'll be out most of the time (during weekdays) I have plenty of time when I come home from school which I forgotten to mention, its from 7:30 am - 1:30pm. So I'm sure I'll have plenty of time to look after them. About the insects, I'll clean the room more often so hopefully its not that bad. And last, my apartment is not very hot as i do live near the seaside area and lots wind 'flow' around my house just not in the store room but i will be planning on leaving the door open at all times (maybe thats the reason why that room is not very airy since the other rooms r very cooling) and I asked a guinea pig expert, she said that a fan will be just fine but keep it on higher settings.
