question about using special wood flakes

From where I come from., they only have pine shavings and special wood flakes that I can find in my home town. I ask the pet shop owner what type od bedding they have for guinea pigs and they showed me the special wood flakes. I post one of the message here about using woof flakes and the people here advice me not to use it, but while I was surfing the net, I came across this site (broken link removed) and the desc. says is suitable for guinea pigs. It is soft and absorbent, reduce ordor and dust-free, that's what the desc. says. If wood flakes is not safe as what the people here says, then I have to turn to pine shavings but I heard alot of people saying it's not safe. I am a litle confuse here. If there is anyone out there who could give some advice I would be very happy.:)

Re: question about using special wood flakes

I used to use woodflakes before I switched to carefresh I never had any problems with it but didn't find it all that great either. It isn't very absorbant but doesn't smell either.I am not sure but as long as it is dust extracted and kiln dried(I think) it should be ok.
check this on cavymadness,or guinealynx if you are unsure.
