Ok, if you look at my pictures of my guys Smokey (the white and gray one) looks to have some what short hair, in reality he has very long hair but Brian likes to chew it all off, it was alot shorter and has grown out a little, he sort of does it just every once and a while, I am not too sure why, he seems to do it most when he is letting Smokes know hes the boss, but if anyone has any info on the subject that would be great, I would love for his hair to grow out but I dont know of any way to get Brian to stop....I try to make sure he has things to chew on but that does not make much differance, thanks a bunch.

I have a barber too!

Out of my 3 girls, two should be long hairs, a coronet and a sheltie.

Sometimes their hair only looks a little bit longer then a short hair! I kid that it is because my short haired girl is jealous of their long pretty locks! Really, it is probably mostly a bad habbit.

I think that I am going to try expanding the cage again, maybe if they had more space, that would help?

What size cage do your boys have?

The boys have a 2x3 cage with a upper deck, no matter how much room they have (free run of the living room and kitchen) they are always glued to each other lol....but when I was younger I had alot of piggies, they where out side, they had a HUGE bird aivory (6x6ish)and a large dog house with the run of about a 10x10 foot hunk of the yard, they loved it, but a couple of them also chewed and I know they had enough space...maybe its like a security thing, Birds do that with those pacifiers they make (its a wood ball with little plastic strings hanging down) they kind of look like a tassle but of plastic....they stroke it with their mouths....maybe its like that???? lol

I don't think it is a security thing, more likely dominance... Or a piggy just really wants to help out their longhaired folk with grooming! :)
