Question about guinea pigs

How many different breeds of guinea pigs are there? I ask because I have seen a lot of ginea pigs that look very different from one another- some have long pointed snouts, and some have short round snouts. Some have big shoulders and short bodies, and some have longer, slim bodies with shorter legs.

So, are there names for all these variations?

Also, do dwarf guinea pigs really exist? I've heard about them but never seen one in a pet store.
