Grow Your Own question about garden/fertilizer

I have a question, I know they say not to let piggies eat forages from lawns that have been treated with pesticides or fertilizers...but what about veggies grown in gardens?

I am thinking of doing a garden this year (it'll be my first) and I ran across a good deal on this soil at Big Lots. Will it be ok to use as soil for my garden that i'll be growing piggie veggies in? It says it's natural and organic but still says its a fertilizer.

That looks fine to me, but I'm no expert on the subject, hopefully someone with more knowledge will reply soon.

Im sure it is fine... I wanted to share with you something really cool i learned, Guinea pig poop can be used as a fertilizer. Isnt that awesome haha you might not be as excited as me but its pretty awesome :)

I would compost the droppings first instead of mixing it directly into a vegetable garden just in case the guinea pig might have some sort of bacterial infection or salmonella.

How would you go about composting it? I'm working on growing some of my own veggies to possibly save money - I want to start growing wheat grass too... Compost sounds like a great idea, especially if I can use piggy by-product to grow their food! lol
