How to tell the difference. They sound so similar to me.Navi is sitting here making quiet little squeaky noises (wheaking?) As I pet her. But many times she makes this rumbly noise when I reach her hip area then goes right back to the squeaky noise. If I'm hurting her I don't want to keep doing it, but if it's a happy noise...maybe I should.

Guinea pigs don't growl.

Most guinea pigs don't really enjoying having their rear ends pet and the rumble/purring sound you hear is most likely an annoyed sound.

Well, the sites I was looking at explaining noises they make had sound clips and one was labeled a growl. Regardless, unhappy noise whatever it is, is what you are suggesting so we won't do that anymore. LOL
