Puppy Pads

Recently I was cleaning out a closet and found an unopened pack of puppy pads. As I remember using them when my dog was a puppy, the worked well and were very absorbent. I was wondering, Could these be used UNDER my bedding in my guinea pig cage as lining to absord there pee? The puppy pads have plastic edges (Light feather kinda plastic) and like I guess a cottony weave for the absorbent part. If I cut the plastic that hangs over the esge could this possibly work?

I would worry about them chewing on it.

hmmm... and then there is the hazard of possibly choking... Im going to go trim one and see how shot it will trim and then I'll ask the vet.

I know people use them under their fleece but I haven't heard about it under actual bedding. You could put a layer of newspaper over just so if they are chewing on something under the bedding, they're chewing on the newspaper.

I have used them under fleece but I wouldn't recommend using them under other types of bedding. If the pigs can get to the plastic they will probably eat it. My girls got the side of the fleece pulled back once and proceeded to eat the puppy pad so I had to secure the fleece so they couldn't do it anymore. What you can do however, is throw some down puppy pads and throw an old sheet or something on top for floortime.
