Is it cavy or cavy?
I'm not very savvy,
I'm new to the business
of serving two beasts.
(I don't mean I serve them
like cavy-with-gravy
I mean that I serve them
with lettuce and treats.)
So - cavy like wavy,
like Texel coiffeurs?
Or cavy like savvy,
you pig connoisseurs?

Straight up G

cavy like savvy

My dictionary also said cavy like wavy. That's the way I had been pronouncing it, so its nice to know it's the correct way.

Oh ho! This is funny!
We do disagree!
Some say that it's cavvy,
some cavy - like me!
On breeders and cages
on minor pig rages
on valid web pages,
development stages,
adoption and rescue
and varying fescue
and problems that stress you
we all will agree.
But cavy like wavy
or cavvy like savvy
there's room for a choice
individually!

It's cavy as in KAY-VEE. Originated from Cavia Porcellus.

Dr. Seuss??? Is that you? back from the other side?

twofinepigs, you're cracking me up!!!!

I was having some fun with it. ;) But I really did want to know. I asked for "cay-vy" cuisine at the shop and got corrected by the clerk - "oh, you mean cavvy cuisine." I realized I'd always read the word and assumed the pronunciation!

The correct pronunciation is Kay-vee.

Great Poems :)

Yes, pronounced K-V, like in navy or wavy.

If it was to be cav-ee (like savvy) it would be spelt with a double "v" (cavvy)
