Problem with litter trained girl

My 4 piggies are all trained to pee in their litter (at least most of the time). My problem is that my best trained girl goes into her litter box, but then she stays right in the opening(with all four feet in the litter) and pees. This would be fine except she doesn't turn around, so her pee just ends up spraying all over the fleece outside of the litter box (This is how I learn that their pee sprays backwards). I really don't know what to do about this. It is constantly wet in front of their litter and it can be a big pain because it generally starts to smell long before the rest of my cage does. Anyone have any ideas on how I can get her to turn around once she goes in her litter so her pee goes where it is supposed to??

(Just for reference, their litter is a cat litter box with an opening cut out in the front so that they can go in)

Maybe put something to occupy them (hay?) in the back of the litter box?

I've added some hay myself. It worked really well this week.

I've actaully tried the hay before and it didn't work. The problem is that she is so well trained that she knows the difference between going in the litter box to eat and going in to do her business. She can actually be eating her pellets and she will stop, go pee and then come back to eat. I love that she does this, but if it doesn't go in the box, its kinda pointless.

why does it matter if she goes in the box?

just clean out the part where she pees maor often it only takes a minute

I actually cannot clean up the part that she pees on because I use one big fleece blanket, so I would have to change my fleece every day or at least every other day, which I am not willing to do since I switched to fleece to cut down on my expenses. I've also tried putting shavings in front of her litter, so that they could soak up the pee, but they all end up kicking the shavings all over and then they no longer work. I'm just out of ideas. To put this into perspective, she pees in this one little area everytime she has to pee, I am not sure how many times they go a day, but you can imagine that it gets absolutely soaked and reeks really bad. I have even moved the litter box, but she continues to do it no matter where it is.

Does anyone know of anything I can spray unto the fleece where she pees to cut down on the smell and the wetness of it??

I would try to get a bakeing sheet for cookies. Place it under the litter pan and leave so much of it infront, put newspaper and a towel and see if that will catch it. That way you only have to change that one spot every other day or so and it would be a snap. Your smart little piggie might not even notice that it is there. This way problem solved and you have easy clean up.

Why cant you put a small carpet mat on the spot that she pees on?

I will try that baking sheet idea. For some reason I have never thought of that, but it would probably work. I have tried the carpet mats, since I already have one in my cage that goes underneath their hay rack, but I found that it smelled just as bad.

Is the coating on the baking sheets bad for them or should I try to get an actaully stainless steel one? I know that plastic wouldn't work since I got a group of chewers.

I would for sure try to stainless steel or a non coated since you have chewers. Or drap the towel/fleece, whichever you use over the edges and tuck in underneath so they can't get to the actual pan might work also.
