Litter Training Potty/kitchen question

Maybe someone who has been in a similar situation can answer this: Right now I'm using pine shavings as bedding until I get my cage built and can use fleece. If I use the same shavings in the kitchen area (if I even need to) will my piggy be more likely to pee in there since he's used to going potty in shavings? Just curious.

I am using fleece in the cage and Carefresh on the kitchen area. Previously I was using Carefresh all over. Nikolai will pee and poop wherever he is. Usually inside his pigloo. Although he tends to pee more int he kitchen area.
