Is 100% Polyvinyl mats safe for the floor of a guinea pig cage? Of course, Id put aspen bedding in there. My father and I are making a cage from scratch and are still wondering what materials we could use for the bottom. We are making it 1/4 of the room.

We have decided to make it out of 2'x3' pieces of Coroplast available online, but any replies would still be helpful to future viewers

That material is called Coroplast, and that is one of the two main components of a C and C cage. But don't buy it in those small squares. Plan out how your cage is going to look and then buy a sheet of it, then cut it to fit.

Polyvinyl is fine. Just make sure it's installed so they can't nibble the edges.

And if you can't get the larger pieces of coroplast, make sure the pigs can't get to the tape. Piggies LOVE tape, and it does terrible things to their digestive systems.
