Plywood ok for cage accessory?

We were putting together a ramp and supports to make a second story on our cavy cage. We bought a box, intended for rabbits, to use as a base and added some plywood for a ramp. But, it occurred to us that the plywood might not be good for the piggies to chew on.

I don't see any discussion in the various cavy web sites regarding what materials are OK to use.

Any information that you can share will be most appreciated.

Thanks,
krjmom

Excluding the idea of chewing, plywood alone would definatly raise concern for "sliver" issues on their feet. I have posted in the "hidey-houses" forum on this site how to use coroplast for this also. And i use the soft meshy lining meant for cupboards on top for grip! Get it at the dollar store, super cheap ramp. If you are interested in ALL the different ramp styles I have (both coroplast and wood) and can be made in a couple of hours for under $5.00, let me know and I will send you the pics.
