My little Allie has pink back feet. Her nails are clipped and she lives in a fleece lined C&C cage. Should I be concerned......has anyone seen this problem before? Do I need to take her to the vet?? Thanks in advance for the input.

Pink feet? My piggies have pink feet. One of mine has one pink back foot and one black. Is there a problem with the feet or just they are pink in color?

I have quite a few with pink feet. Upload a photo so we can see if there's anything unusual about them. Lots of guinea pigs have pink skin.

This is more like a sore.....it's much darker than her skin color....

Do you have a ramp or anything other than fleece that she steps on, like bricks or other materials? Is it a wound with blood or more like a scrape or some type of skin condition?

I wouldn't call it a wound....more like a brush burn maybe. They do have a ramp with carpet on it. I'm going to try and take a picture tonight and try and figure out how to post it. Thanks for your help.

My guess is that the carpet is abrasive... "rug burn" ....and it's chafed her skin. You might want to replace the carpet with fleece.

Here are the pics of their feet, let me know what you think.
Thanks.

I'm going to put fleece on the ramp and see if it helps. If I don't see an improvement it's off to the vet after the Holiday's.... Thanks for suggestion.

In the meantime, get some cold pressed extra virgin coconut oil and rub her feet with that. It will help protect her skin, and has some antiseptic properties that may ward off any possible infection.

Is that something I would get from the pet store or from a Health Food Store? I'll get it today. Thanks for the info.

Any drug store and maybe any grocery store should have it. It'll be in with the pharmacy section at the grocery store.
