Aww..they're adorable. I hope they all survive. What are you feeding the baby in that container lid?

Have you been able to determine the sex of the remaining baby from the first litter?

No, I tried looking again last night but that little one is just still so very tiny. Even at 11 days s/he is still smaller than the babies just born!

The baby is eating Critcal Care mixed with a *tiny* bit of baby food (I think banana/blueberry as the choices were limited).

The babies are so cute; glad to see Stella's little guy looking so much better. You are making us want to adopt more guinea pigs -- stop! We're running out of room as it is! LOL

Emily, what I generally do with baby boys is pair them up with any single boys in rescue who are waiting for friends, but I also will adopt them out to previous adopters who are interested in adding a "baby" to the family, or to very qualified adopters looking for friends for their lonely boys. It isn't generally recommended to send anyone to a new home until we are positive they have the hang of drinking out of the water bottle and eating all their yummy foods. The length of time varies from piggie to piggie for this. They need go to a home where they will have an adult mentor piggie, to show them the ropes, or they stay here and get hooked up with one . . .

mom2cujo - you absolutely must adopt a baby boy! I think Cujo and Sebastian would take him right under their wings. ;~) How are your newest two settling in?

widallas - hmmm, do I see a cage expansion in your future? Acorn ought to be coming out of adolecence now, so by the time a new baby boy was entering, he would be through. hehe. ;~)

It had been 2 years since Cujo came here when he was a baby so I had forgotten how funny they are. Jumping all over and wheeking like crazy. They are so funny. They are settling in quite well, but run like mad when I try to pick them up. Now, if there is food involved, that is another story!

Sebastian is doing great, as is Cujo. Cujo is still the most lovey pig I have ever seen. When I got to pet him he will stop whatever he is doing, including eating and let me mush him and give me kisses. He's just a love-pig!

I would love another baby boy - Rick will flip, but what's one more? When you are able to sex them, please let me know, okay?

I am so glad that they are all doing well.
They are all so darn cute!

OH my goodness look at those cute babies!!!! Amiable, I got your email, I was wondering if you could send the adoption form to my email again....I know I said ASAP on adopting, but I want to wait for about a month, we are still recovering from a huge vet bill from our cat..I figured in a month we would be ready to adopt 2 more, I hate to put it off, but I want to make sure that we have enough $ to care for 2 more friends:)

I have a method to my madness, we have a relief emergency Dr & vet fund for those just incase moments, and we have to build it up again:)

I still cant get over how adorable those babies are...AWWWWWW...

I am so tempted... We had to move the guys to temporary housing downstairs while we replaced appliances (we just moved the whole cage down). Wish us luck -- there's someone coming to look at the fridge tomorrow, so hopefully we can FINALLY get the boys back upstairs into the room where they belong (even though they're enjoying the cool of the cellar this week!). If all goes well, I'd definitely consider expanding the cage in the near future!!!

Sorry I haven't updated this thread in a few days. Unfortunately we lost the little one with the one pink ear on Saturday night. She put up a good fight but wasn't able to make it. She had a runny nose and it was suggested she could have gotten birth fluid in the lungs upon birth and developed a uri, but we will never know for sure.

Bianca, another piggie who is under treatment for a head tilt, is also quite pregnant, so we are watching her.

Eve, another of the foster piggies, is at the vets because of a lump, which isn't an abscess, and that will be removed tomorrow - think good thoughts for her, please. And continue to kep the babies in your thoughts. The remaining babies are doing pretty well, which is great news!

Thanks Wendy.

Stella's little one is doing great and is up to 150 grams. Will be three weeks old tomorrow but I still cannot tell gender as s/he is so tiny.

Rebecca's two babies are worrying me a bit. They aren't loosing weight but they aren't really gaining either like they really need to be doing.

Bianca seems to be doing fine, Sandra is healing great from her double abscesses, and Eve is healing well from her sbacess as well so far.

Baby Update!

I feel like we really reached a milestone today, with both of Rebecca's babies officially over 100 grams finally! They are two weeks old as of today the 22nd. The little one with the grey ears weighed in tonight at 104 grams, the little red and white baby at 101 grams (both these guys had a low weight of 80 grams), and Stella's baby who is 3.5 weeks at 189 grams (from a low weight of 66 grams)!

Yeah!! Good babies. I'm not 100% sure we are out of the woods with the little guys yet, but I am really hoping.
