About how large to American guinea pigs grow? And would it be alright for a baby and an older one(about 1 year) to be in the same cage if both are male. Should there be precautions i should think about when I have a little one?

They can get anywhere from a little over two to over three, depends on the pig. They're all different. Make coroplast higher, and double-grid.

and make sure you read the "social life" part of the cavy spirt website. shows you how to introduce the piggies to each other and what to look out for (fighting).

just make sure to do the quarentine period.

How big is your cage? You may need to baby proof.

I have been thinking of something similar. Agnes gave birth last week and I'm positive that one of the babies is a boy (I'm taking them into the exotics vet next week to be sure). I have 2 older boars, one of them is neutered and used to live with Aggie before she was getting testing because of the pregnancy. I'm thinking of trying to get the baby boy to live with Walter the neutered boar. My other boar, Henry is very alpha-like and he actually had to be seperated from his name deceased brother Oscar because he was biting him! I'm just a concerned mom, and don't want anything to happen to the little baby! I'll try introducing them soon to see how it goes.

I havent made the cage yet.

argh! I cant find the page about quarentineing~! can someone help me?
