Piggy Book Finished!

I have finally finished writing my piggy book! I'm just going through it a few times to correct any spelling/grammar mistakes, and then it's off to the publishers! I have had it checked by a cavy rescuer and she says everything is fine with it, all the information is correct. In fact, she even asked me to write out some guinea leaflets for when she adopts guineas out to new, inexperienced owners!

I want to thank all of you on here for correcting my mistakes (in particular the nutrition advice); hopefully some more piggies in this world will benefit from some up-to-date advice. And yes, I put a whole section in on housing piggies, and the main focus was on C&C cages, with a link to this site.

Yay! Congratulations, that's really cool! Do you already have a publishing contract? I'd buy the book if I was in England.

Thanks Teria. I've not yet got in touch with any publishers; I know which ones publish guinea pig books, I just need to see if any of them is interested. If not, I may sell it as an e-book sort of thing, or just bind it together myself and see if it sells on eBay.

Good luck on publishing it! If you do get it published which I know you will, tell me the name of it and stuff and I will be sure to buy it. Or even if you bind it yourself give me the link because I will still buy it.

I've no more news on the book at the moment, I'm waiting until I've moved before I look into getting it published as it takes some time.

As far as the leaflets go, I've done a basic care leaflet (about feeding, housing, why not to house piggies with rabbits, why not to breed piggies etc.)with a link to this website, Guinea Lynx and Cavy Spirit.
I'm also doing some more detailed leaflets about feeding, housing & toys, behaviour and basic healthcare, which I'm going to give to my local Recsue. I'm also going to leave some with pet stores and send some examples to some other rescues located around the UK. Hopefully, they will start making a difference until the book gets out and about!
