Piggie passed away...

Well, I had two guinea pigs that I thought were sisters but ended up being a brother and sister pair. I had the male neutered and a couple of weeks after he got sick. After medication and seemingly on the way to recovery, he passed away. But they both were being pig sat as I couldn't bring them with me during the holidays. I've started to wonder if it was a mixture of everything or if it was just one thing that caused him to go away. Well, this is a tribute to my sweet boy piggie, Griffin. He was such a cutie.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I am s ure Griffin was well loved.

im so sorry, i no how sad it must be for you :(

I'm sorry that your piggie died. I hope you feel better.

Thanks for the condolences! I still have Lily, which I am really grateful for. I'm also watching her carefully just in case what Griffin had might have been contagious. So far she seems healthy and she's eating and playing so I'm hoping for the best. Thanks again!

I'm sorry to hear about Griffin. I'm sure you gave him the best of care.

you should take lily to the vet right away, it can't hurt her and you will be sure you will have her with you for a while

I am planning on taking Lily to the vet but with the cold weather and public transportation I'm debating whether the trip itself would be hazardous to her health. If I had my own car or my friends had one, it'd be cool, but there's waiting for the bus in the cold which is worrying me.

Ask if they can make a house call. They sometimes do, and especially if you explain the circumstances, I see no reason why they wouldn't.

Sprry for your loss. When I had to take my piggies to the vet in february, I put them in an insulated styrofoam cooler(with ventilation, of course! It was also topless) layered with towels and heavy fleece, and then I 'tucked' them in with fleece.

Wow. Thanks for the options. I didn't even think about the calling to see if they could make housecalls. If that doesn't work, I'll plan on buying a cooler and trying that! Thanks so much!

Anytime, just make sure that it has enough ventilation so they don't pass out or something. I'm pretty sure that without a top with piggies will be fine, just make sure to keep something warm over them when they're outside so they don't catch a draft!

My deepest condolences on the loss of Griffin.
